Third generation builder Community Development Inc. (CDI), an Indianapolis builder of communities for buyers 55 years of age and above, is proud to have four members of its staff hold the Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) designation from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
The Remodelors' Council of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) in collaboration with the NAHB Research Center, NAHB Seniors Housing Council and AARP developed the Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist (CAPS) program to address the growing number of consumers that will soon require these modifications.
Chad Young, president, earned the CAPS designation in 2004. He felt so strongly about the value of the CAPS designation that he encouraged three more CDI employees to complete the training this year. "Having four staff members with the CAPS designation helps keep CDI on the leading edge of aging-in-place issues," says Young. "To maintain our designation, we are required to complete continuing education, which keeps us up on the latest information available."
